The Business of Food
Purdue University – Mitch Daniels School of Business
Florence

Accent and the Mitch Daniels School of Management at Purdue University partner to design and deliver an intensive spring break seminar focusing on the business of food in Italy.
This seminar is taught by local faculty and examines the economic impact of high-value food products around Tuscany and northern Italy. Through coursework and on-site learning, students explore how local companies and entrepreneurs strive to combine tradition and economic growth.
Local Insight
Highlights include visits to several companies involved in food production, from large consortiums to small family-owned businesses, as students learn about the industry behind local products such as parmigiano cheese, prosciutto, wine, and more. Visits are complemented by meetings with company management and entrepreneurs, giving students insight into the challenges these businesses face.
